Is there enough water in the air to produce hundreds of gallons of skywater every day? There are about 37 million gallons of water in the atmosphere at any given time, that's more fresh water than all the rivers on the planet.
Is taking water from the atmosphere harmful to the environment? Water is continuously evaporating from the oceans adding humidity to the atmosphere. Since nature abhors a vacuum, the natural humidity in the environment is immediately replaced with additional moisture from the ocean.
What are the ideal working conditions for the Skywater machines? The ideal relative humidity is between 40% to 100% and temperature between 65F to 105F. The volume of water is based upon 80% F and 80% RH. Anything more will yield additional water production and anything less will also reduce less water than the benchmark. Accordingly, the quantity of water production will increase or decrease based on the temperature and humidity conditions known as the dew point.
What sort of power does the machine require? Our machines work on 220/50-60Hz/Single or 380/50-60Hz/3 Phase. Power consumption is largely depended upon the temperature and humidity, typically Skywater machines use less energy than other machines because of the patented Adiabatic Distillation process. Energy ranges from less than .4KWH/Liter to over kWh depending upon climatic conditions.
How much power does the machine consume? The nominal power consumption depends on the production capacity of each machine, ranging from.04- 0.8 kW/hr (Skywater 30) to 6.0- 8.2 kW/hr (Skywater 300). Our machines consume less than half power compared to the competitors.
Can the machines run on alternative non-conventional power source? Absolutely! In fact, we run ours on solar in our office at Venice Beach, CA! In rural conditions Bio- Gasification has proved to be very productive and efficient in creating a micro-grid.
Do the machine come with a warranty? We offer two year manufacturer warranty on the compressor and one year manufacturer warranty and a 10 year limited warranty on the machines from the date of purchase.
How does the machine filter impurities from the air? Skywater machines are equipped with an electrostatic, antimicrobial air filter to remove impurities from the air. The Skywater technology filters out any impurities found in the air before it goes through the adiabatic distillation process. Although the water is distilled and clean at this point, it is further purified with an onboard ozone generator, which creates an environment that is inhospitable to organic growth, biological contamination and impurities. It is recommended that an additional ozone generator is used when storing the water in water collection tanks over a longer period of time.
The air doesn't seem that clean... Can I really get clean drinking water from the air? Clean, fresh water is our number one priority, and the answer is absolutely, YES! Our machines include air filtration system that remove particulate matter smaller than .01 microns and any possibly harmful bacteria/contaminants. It also includes water filtration system which is extremely efficient, ensuring that the water is purified at all times.
What is Ozone? Ozone has been used for over 50 years to purify water and is accepted by the United States Public Health Service as a standard method for water treatment. Our system uses an Ozone Generator to eliminate any micro organisms, including bacteria and viruses. Ozone is often used to maintain the freshness of bottled water.
How often do I need to change the air/water filters? The air filter needs to be cleaned every week and changed every 6 months. The water filters need to be changed every 3 months.
